CleanPowerSF’s Peak Day Partners program had a record-breaking 2024 season. With more Event Days than ever, our Peak Performers rose to the challenge and played a vital role in shedding energy load on California’s hottest days. 

SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) approved annual rates for its two power services, with no change for over 380,000 CleanPowerSF electricity customers—representing 98% of all customers—and a 10 percent increase for approximately 6,300 Hetch Hetchy Power municipal, commercial, and residential customers. Even with the 10 percent increase, Hetch Hetchy Power rates remain the lowest electricity rates in San Francisco. The new rates for Hetch Hetchy Power customers take effect on July 1, 2025.

Happy Earth Month! April is all about celebrating our planet—from beach cleanups to blooming gardens—but did you know it also brings a little bonus for your utility bill? The California Climate Credit arrives this month, putting some green back in your wallet while supporting a cleaner energy future. This biannual credit comes from California's Greenhouse Gas Cap-and-Trade Program, which incentivizes utilities in California to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

At CleanPowerSF, we are committed to providing stable, predictable, and affordable rates for our customers. CleanPowerSF rates are updated just once a year in July. This year’s new proposed CleanPowerSF rates are up for a vote on April 8.

With about 3,000 people in attendance, SFPUC’s Power Enterprise and Community Benefits staff joined forces to bring information to students, families, and educators at the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) Students annual Summer Resource Fair, hosted at Golden Gate Park.

On January 20, the SFPUC’ hosted a webinar titled, “What’s Next for Rooftop Solar in California?” The free, one-hour event provided attendees with valuable insights into the evolving landscape of rooftop solar at the state, regional, and local levels. The event featured expert panelists, including Steve Campbell, Regulatory Director of the West from Vote Solar; Helen Ma, Outreach Operations Manager at GRID Alternatives; and Ross Nakasone, Utility Specialist from CleanPowerSF.
