CleanPowerSF customers receive an annual notice that shows where we sourced the electricity that powered your home or business during the previous year. It’s like a nutrition label for electricity.
This label shows that the electricity you received from CleanPowerSF in 2023 came entirely from clean and renewable sources. The label also shows that CleanPowerSF’s services are cleaner compared to the average electricity mix for California.
Green service
Our Green service delivers at least 70% renewable energy, and features resources like solar, wind, geothermal, and hydroelectric power, a greenhouse gas-free source of electricity.
SuperGreen Service
Our SuperGreen service features 100% renewable energy per the state’s Renewables Portfolio Standard, and consists of wind and solar power.

Delivered 100% renewable electricity for the second year in a row to all 385,000 customers
Expanded our popular Electrify My Ride e-bike program to more than twice as many customers
Lowered rates for customers installing heat pump water heaters
Supported 1,000 EV charging spots citywide

Where Our Power Comes From
CleanPowerSF is San Francisco’s local, clean energy provider. We source power that is clean, reliable, and affordable for more than 380,000 customers.
Our energy comes from a variety of resources mostly right here in California. The majority of our power is solar, wind, geothermal and hydroelectric power.
To date, we have committed to sourcing energy from more than 600 megawatts of brand new solar, wind and geothermal projects, and over 300 megawatts in new battery storage. As a CleanPowerSF customer, you are helping to support the construction of these new projects and California’s transition to a clean energy future.
