Bill Relief Coming to CleanPowerSF Customers

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the SFPUC secured $10.9 million in federal and state funding to provide emergency financial assistance for customers to help pay their utility bills. Unfortunately, however, financial hardships continued for many customers in San Francisco, causing an increase in utility bill debt.

To address this additional need for financial support, the SFPUC recently secured $1.24 million for CleanPowerSF customers through the California Arrearage Payment Program, which provides direct financial assistance for customers who accrued bill debt during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To be eligible to receive bill relief funding, CleanPowerSF customers must have an unpaid energy bill over 60 days past due between March 4, 2020, and December 31, 2021. Customers do not need to apply to receive assistance under this program. Instead, qualifying CleanPowerSF customers will see the bill credit applied directly to their PG&E bill.

To support our customers, CleanPowerSF also offers flexible payment plans and discount programs to help customers save on their monthly energy bills. Learn more about available programs and see if you qualify by visiting www.cleanpowersf.org/loweryourbill.
