2025 Year in Review: Powering San Francisco’s Future, Together!

As we bid farewell to 2025 and take some time to recharge our batteries, the Power Enterprise wants to take a moment to reflect on our successes this past year. We continued to make progress on the City’s ambitious climate goals while ensuring cleaner energy remains affordable and accessible through CleanPowerSF.

As we look back on 2025, one theme stands out: San Francisco’s clean energy future is not just a plan on paper—it is happening now.

CleanPowerSF: Advancing Climate Goals

  1. Affordable Rates for San Franciscans: In 2025, the SFPUC approved electricity rates that included no increases for 98% of all 380,000 customers.

  2. Electrify My Ride: More San Franciscans are embracing cleaner, healthier ways of getting around thanks to the SFPUC’s Electrify My Ride electric bike program. To date, more than 560 low-income residents used a $1,000 coupon from the program to purchase a new e-bike from a local bike shop. The program supports small businesses while making sustainable transportation accessible.

  3. 100% Renewable, Two Years in a Row: For the past two years (2023 and 2024), CleanPowerSF delivered 100 percent renewable electricity to all 380,000 customers on its default Green service. These milestones continue to cement San Francisco’s status as a leader in urban climate policy.

  4. A National Climate Award: The U.S. Conference of Mayors awarded San Francisco first place in the 2025 Climate Protection Awards (Large City category) for its emissions reductions, commitment to 100% renewable power, and expansion of clean, affordable energy access through CleanPowerSF.

Thank you for helping write another chapter in San Francisco’s public power journey. Here’s to 2026, and to continuing to lead the nation in climate action, clean energy, and community impact.
