San Francisco Small Business Week is an annual event that celebrates the City's thriving small business community. This year marks the 19th annual celebration, and it promises to be bigger and better than ever. The programming for this year’s event focuses on providing resources and information that can help small business owners at every stage of their journey.

Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA 94102, at a Regular Meeting of the SAN FRANCISCO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION: Public Hearing, discussion, and possible action to adopt the proposed CleanPowerSF (Community Choice Aggregation program) electric rates and charges for electric customers of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.

San Francisco’s skyline is iconic, recognized worldwide for its unique structures surrounded by sparkling bays and bridges. And thanks to bold climate action from some of the City’s largest buildings, San Francisco’s cityscape just became even more special.

A “zero emission” lifestyle or sustainability journey can seem out of reach or daunting, but the truth is that making sustainability swaps doesn’t have to be difficult or costly. Small changes can make a big difference. Here are simple actions you can take this month when it comes to clean energy for you and your family.

Every spring and fall, California utility customers receive credits on their electric and natural gas bills. Funding for the credit comes from California’s cap and trade emissions program to address climate change.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the SFPUC secured $10.9 million in federal and state funding to provide emergency financial assistance for customers to help pay their utility bills. Unfortunately, however, financial hardships continued for many customers in San Francisco, causing an increase in utility bill debt.

San Francisco has often been ahead of its time. In 2008, the City recognized that rooftop solar power could play a role in advancing San Francisco’s ambitious clean energy goals, and the GoSolarSF program was born.

With the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, it pays to conserve—literally.

Through CleanPowerSF’s Peak Day Pricing Program, over 20 large San Francisco businesses conserved energy when California needed it the most last year, and earned a total of $183,000 in incentives. The Peak Day Pricing Program rewards CleanPowerSF commercial customers for reducing their energy when California’s electric grid is strained, like during last September’s extreme heat event. By reducing their energy consumption during these times, these CleanPowerSF businesses helped to keep the lights on for everyone.

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is now accepting bids for Renewable Energy Supplies and Demand Response capacity for its CleanPowerSF program to advance progress on the City’s clean energy goals and support California’s transition towards a clean and reliable electricity grid.
